Driving a car from Seattle, Washington to Deer Isle, Maine feels like eating a hamburger as a main course and Chinese hot pot for dessert. It was quite an amazing tour one that opened my eyes to how diverse this country could be.
I entered the world of photography and of the magic lens at a time when the real world, the world I was living in, didn’t offer me the freedom I needed. I had taken my degree, I was a psychologist and I felt like I wasn’t really myself, like that world wasn’t mine…

Photography has taught me so much about myself and has given me so much personal satisfaction. I work on each stage from the planning, the vision, the actual technical decisions at the scene, to the processing and then the printing and mounting.
Sehnsucht is a German compound word derived from yearning (das Sehnen) and addiction (die Sucht). But even when considered together these words cannot adequately translate the full meaning. It is a longing for someone or something that cannot be fully defined and will not be found.
Through my work, I attempt to identify the ingredients that combine to make a particular place feel like home, primarily through observation of life's ephemera and taking note of the little things that stick in my mind.
I live and create in Slovakia. I am a self-taught (autodidact) and I seriously took up photography in 2009. I cannot impress you with a story about my grand father, who gave me the camera in hand and taught me to see the world through the perspective of lenses when I was a little girl.

I have been a photographer, both professionally and artistically, for most of my adult life. After getting my bachelors degree in Photographic Engineering Technology (a now largely obsolete field of study) in 1987, I began working as a photojournalist at a handful of daily newspapers in the U.S. states of Minnesota, Pennsylvania and North Dakota.
One year ago, I realized I have been trying to tell the same story, over and over again, in many different ways. I began to transform photography into a ritual, an active player in my daily routine. Its presence helped me cope with my chronic anxiety.

I used to draw my inspirations for concepts from my own recent and childhood dreams. Most of which I don’t actually remember the context, sometimes I remember objects, people or locations, however the one thing that always gives me the lasting impression was the last feeling you get during and after the dream.
The digital camera which I purchased for product photography of the Internet auction began photography in an opportunity.
Photography has escorted me through my whole adulthood. It is my medium to act out those of my creative talents that I have to neglect at my daily work as a cell biologist.

Today, the political permeates most practices in the everyday of an individual who both executes and produces them and only rarely (in most cases) questions and examines their origin.
I have always been into art. I love to create and I would do anything to make a living doing something artsy. I cannot even stand the thought of having a regular 9-5 job. My hands are too idle.
