CASH PRIZE FOR THE BEST PHOTOGRAPH AND PHOTOGRAPHER OF 2025 | PUBLISHED AS THE BEST MONOCHROMATIC PICTURES OF THE YEAR 2025 | GREAT EXHIBITION OF YOUR WORK | CERTIFIED AS BEST MONOCHROME PHOTOGRAPHY OF 2025

WE INVITE YOU TO BE PART OF THE FOURTH EDITION OF THE MONOCHROMATIC AWARDS. WE ARE SEARCHING FOR THE BEST MONOCHROME PHOTOGRAPH OF 2025

THIS COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL ARTISTIC VISIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS OF MONOCHROMATIC PHOTOGRAPHY: FROM TRADITIONAL BLACK AND WHITE TO GRAYSCALE, SEPIA, CYANOTYPE, OR ANY OTHER MONOCHROMATIC TONALITY. WE EMBRACE EVERY APPROACH THAT EXPLORES THE RICHNESS OF WORKING WITH A SINGLE DOMINANT COLOR.

At the Monochromatic Awards, photographers from every genre and background are welcome. Whether your work belongs to photojournalism, portrait, nude, architecture, landscape, wildlife, abstraction, experimental photography, street photography, still life, fine art, or alternative processes — your unique voice has a place here. We are excited to see both bold, contemporary visions and classic, timeless expressions of monochrome art.

Monochromatic photography carries a profound and timeless quality. It connects us with the origins of the photographic medium, to a time when images spoke solely through shape, form, light, and shadow. In a world saturated with color, the choice to strip it away invites viewers to see differently — to focus more deeply on the emotion, the essence, and the story within the frame. Monochrome photography demands clarity of vision and mastery of technique, and it continues to inspire and move audiences across generations.

After a decade devoted to discovering and promoting talented photographers worldwide, Dodho Magazine created the Monochromatic Awards to serve as a platform for artists who seek not only recognition but also greater visibility in the international photographic community. We believe that outstanding work deserves to be seen, appreciated, and celebrated — and we are committed to making that happen.

The Monochromatic Awards were designed with you and your artistic journey in mind. Our mission is to offer photographers a prestigious and credible platform to showcase their work, elevate their careers, and connect with a broader audience that values creativity, innovation, and excellence in monochrome photography.

An exceptional international jury, composed of distinguished experts and leaders in the photographic field, will carefully review all submissions. For the fourth edition, the jury includes Anne Lena, Programs Director of the renowned World Press Photo contest; Darren Ching, Director of the celebrated Klompching Gallery in New York; Enrico Stefanelli, Director of the prestigious PhotoLux Festival in Italy; Regina Anzenberger, Founder and Director of the Anzenberger Gallery in Vienna; along with the editorial management team of Dodho Magazine.

THE MONOCHROMATIC AWARDS ARE DESIGNED FOR YOU AND YOUR WORK ACHIEVE INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

The winner of the competition will be honored with the title of Photographer of the Year and will receive a significant cash prize. In addition, the winner, along with the second and third place recipients and two honorable mentions, will be featured in the exclusive annual Monochromatic Awards book — a premium publication that highlights the best monochromatic photography of the year. The top 100 finalists will also be showcased in this volume, offering them an enduring and prestigious place in the photographic landscape.

Moreover, the 25 most outstanding images will be exhibited in our official online gallery for one year.
