Mundari cattle camp by Trevor Cole
The cattle camp, seldom visited by outsiders, is quite simply incredible. I saw Sebastiao Salgado’s photo of these camps years ago and there is no change that I could see. The Mundari are friendly and enjoy being photographed.

Ethnic diversity in the Horn of Africa by Trevor Cole
These images are taken in the Horn of Africa where the roots of humankind lie, and arguably is a region of the continent with one of the greatest ethnic diversities. The people are often tribal (Animist) in nature or have recently been converted from animism to Christianity or Islam.

Light and landscape by Trevor Cole
These black and white images are from a diversity of global locations. Ireland, Canada, Iceland, The Faroe Islands and Namibia. They endeavour to convey a sense of space, atmosphere and the way in which light exacerbates tonal contrasts.

Tribal traits and traditions by Trevor Cole
The Omo valley of Ethiopia is home to approximately forty tribes, living in climatic, social and political margins. I aspire to capture these people as they are, in a state of transition as outside influences increasingly make an impact on their indigenous culture.

Life and culture in Ethiopia by Trevor Cole
These images are a cross section of the diversity of life and culture in Ethiopia. The tribes of the Omo valley, the Afar of the Danakil desert and the Orthodox christians of the highlands.

To capture people and landscapes and the interactions between them in the light of a world in transition is to encapsulate an inimitable moment, which will never again materialise. My own 'take' as a geographer photographer!
