Alessandro Celante | Cover | Born in 1972 in the interior of the State of São Paulo, Brazil, graduated in Social Communication from FAAP-SP and post- graduate in photography and arts at the SENAC-SP Center for Communication and Arts, where he researched photographic historical processes. Taught for 8 years photography and Semiotics at Universidade Padre Anchieta in Jundiaí – SP. Has been working as a graphic designer for more than 25 years at AUM Graphic Design, a company that owns and develops projects in the visual arts due to the pho- tographic bias, which made it possible to participate in several collective exhibitions
France Leclerc | Kazakh Childhood | France Leclerc, born in Quebec, Canada, is an independent photographer who currently lives in Chicago. Her early career was in academia, teaching at MIT and the University of Chicago, but in 2005 she decided to make a change to pursue her passion for documentary photography. Although this may seem like an unlikely change of focus, the curiosity and hunger for learning that had motivated her academic research did not vanish. France now uses photography as a vehicle to understand and help depict issues that puzzle her and satisfy her passion for learning. Among her most prominent themes are culture (especially ancient ones), gender, and poverty.
Lys Arango | Until the corn grows back | Lys Arango is a Spanish documentary photographer and writer. She lives where she works, but currently is based in Paris. Graduate in International Relations and a Master’s degree in journalism, she develops long-term documentary stories exploring photography, text and sound, as tools to bridge humanitarian issues, migration, daily life, and explore how they converge in a historical and cultural context. Driven by researchled, self-initiated projects, Lys seeks to fully understand the lives of those she captures in order to portray them as truthfully as possible. Perceiving time, trust and understanding to be the key elements to achieving this, her personal projects develop over the years.
Samuel Feron | The blue desert | Samuel Feron has been photographing Nature for 2 decades, exploring remote and sparsely habited areas all over the world. He tries to go beyond what the eyes first see, assuming that Nature has secrets in itself. His camera was initially thought as a tool to explore a land but has become, as the years went by, like a headlamp searching the raw diamonds he will polish as jewels. Samuel has produced around 10 Collections dedicated to Iceland, each gathering images around a specific thematic he associates to the places he travels. Samuel initially found his inspiration in Nature, especially remote areas as glaciers, volcanoes and deserts.
Nikolina Petolas | Tale of the blue pear | Nikolina is a visual artist from Zagreb, Croatia. She works in various techniques, such as photo collage, digital art, oils and acrylics. With her works she searches to underline the psychological and social aspects of our identity and effects that endless soul searching has on our lives. In her metaphorical presentations, from dreamlike landscapes and fantasy scenery to strange and dark characters, creatures and environments, she uses the observation of inner conflicts and questions that arise from them, as a dreamy and vivid example to show complex human emotions and drives as well as her subjective personal experience of the world. Visual interpretations of animal fables with profound detailed compositions in her signature ‘Tale of the Blue Pear’ series has been recognized by private collectors worldwide and luxury venues such as Seabourn and Marriot autograph collection.
Marco Cheli | Fortza Paris | Marco Cheli was born in Siena in the end of seventies. His passion for photography grew up slowly through years spent working as graphic designer and he starts using a reflex with the desire of tell stories. Beyond the narrative aspect, “Fortza Paris” tries to explain the strong bond that, for sixty years, has linked Sardinia to Siena, a bond made up of horses, culture and tradition. The first generation of Sardinians arrived in Siena from Sardinia in the early 1960s, fleeing poverty, illiteracy and unemployment.
