We are sure our country can change. We want it to change. We believe that

Change, innovation, turning the page, speeding un the pace, in the election race, alluring words that promised the begining of a new era were heard. They outlined a new direction and proclaimed the need to start over, after having touched a bottom that still continues to be lowered old parties and newly born movements, each with their own recipe promise a future free from economic crisis and from congenital flaw of italian politics and culture , but in the hopes that cling to these words, today an entire country no longer wants to sita round.

Many faces of young  people, men and woman appear in front of us motionless.

Their stare is in our eyes, they speak to us in silence, the fisrt steps, before the stares and the reflected words, convey to us the T proud tired and injuried but determined to raise its head and to move into the light in order to show own individual identity as a starting point towards a collective change.

I was born and grew up in Rome, a very controversial city, which magnificience is matched only by its decay.I took my first shot when I was 14, as a first year student. A backlight portrait, taken with a Rolliflex and black and white film.

My photographs tell a part of me, through the reconstruction of environments, costumes and objects i put on stage some feelings of the moment, which are not so far from those who other people feel, like everyone else, live with fears, uncertainties and joys in a more ‘or less intimate way, with the luck of being able to make visible, photography allows me to tell them, at other times of exorcising them.

The pictures that I produce express my opinion, not necessarily right or wrong, but the one that I feel part of the time that I’m living. Probably, as things change, mature my way of thinking and seeing. What I thought it was right 6 or 7 years ago has changed. My work is strongly influenced by the moral decadence of my country. Living here you have a continuous and constant stress, easily recognizable, therefore, individuals who live with me this pseudo reality, in turn, become potential actors and charachters of my work.

I really care about the management of the lights. I try to reach the maximum during shooting. I do not like the idea of having to work on the light in post production, I prefer to plan everything before doing the test rather than let instinct take the time, beyond ‘this, do not ever chase precise aesthetics in my projects. [Official Website]
