The captivating beauty of Mongolia transcends its vast landscapes; it resides in the people who carry forth age-old traditions, proudly preserving their heritage. Through the lens of black and white portraiture, the essence of Western and Southern Mongolia's inhabitants comes to life, showcasing the diversity and cultural richness of this mesmerizing land.

The Medina of Marrakech is a fascinating place in many respects.  It enjoys a unique location, near the  high Atlas Mountains of central Morocco.  Founded in the early years of the Almoravid dynasty, around 1065, it is surrounded by high walls. 

Women from the Hamar tribe (which gathers a bit more than 40 000 people in the South of Ethiopia) pay considerable attention to their physical appearance.

A large part of modern music is born in the cities located between New Orleans and Nashville. New Orleans (Louisiana) is the birth place of jazz music. It is still packed with jazz clubs around the Faubourg Marigny and on the (in)famous Bourbon street.

Ethiopia became Christian in the IVth century and has kept a very vivid faith. Its Orthodox Church is home to spectacular traditions, with a high number of processions where thousands of people dance and sing in the street for days.

The Omo Valley, located in the south west of Ethiopia, is home to a number of fascinating tribes, which have kept their traditions and a spectacular appearance. This photographic project  is built around two tribes, the Mursi and the Karo.  All photos have been taken in natural conditions, with the consent of the villagers.
