Factories; Deep in the earth by Francesca Pompei
Italy is one of the countries where the practice of architecture has been most affected by the economic crisis. The rich north regions were once home to many factories born from the economic boom of the Sixties.

25 miles from Berlin, the East German military camp of Wünsdorf, city headquarter to the Nazis and then the Soviets, was once home to 75,000 Soviet men, women and children. Now ‘Little Moscow’, the biggest Soviet military camp outside the USSR, has been quickly abandoned after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the reunification of Germany.

We think that architecture should be one continuous experience, from town to architecture and from architecture to structure… When we encounter a piece of architecture, the experience begins before we enter the space.

The series Grids focuses on the pure clean-lined geometries of the architecture. My works feel like controlled exercises in constant repetition and serial iteration.
