To make this portfolio I had the idea to show the inside of blossoms before they open all her petals and pistil. For this idea I´m looking for corresponding flower buds.

After testing a lot of flowerbuds in the springtime and summer and experiments to show there inside in a really manner, I found at the end of my experiments some magnificent buds with a strong tighter surface area. Now I tried to open the flower buds with different cutting tools. It was the most difficult assignment to cut the buds in a way to don´t destroy the inside with its petals and pistil. After a lot of test I found a suitable method for cutting the buds in the middle of there overall dimension. The great problem was after cutting, and I don´t expected this,   that immediately plant sap leaked.

But I found again after some test a method to put away this plant sap without bless the fine structures oft the later petals and pistil. A second problem was to hold the flower buds after cutting in the middle for photographing. To get a briliant sharping it was necessary to ajust the surface area oft the cropped bud at rigth angles to the camera lens. This technique needs a lot of time and more than once I had to try it again. I used for this photographic work a steady background to show the flowers bud stand alone. For my photographic test I tested different macro lenses to get the best results. Of course I used a solid tripod and a diffuse lighting without reflections of the slightly humid surface oft he bud. All photos were specific handle with an image editing program and than I looked for conformities in style of the different buds to put always two of them with a interrelationsship in one sculpture. By layering with very different possibilitys and an artistically using off false colors and edit mode the images get the wanted artistic context. A place. Insignificant, work of the hand of man. Where are we? In a nondescript urban space: a commercial, industrial area, offices? It doesn’t matter. It is a world without a soul, where it’s neither good to live nor work.
