Meet the photographers in this book
Joe McNally | 1st Place | Joe McNally is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning photographer whose career has taken him to nearly 70 countries. Known for his technical mastery, creativity, and versatility, he has built a reputation for handling both complex and unconventional assignments with equal confidence.
Paola Francesca Barone | 2nd Place | Paola Francesca Barone, Apulian and Arbëreshë by origin and Neapolitan by adoption, brings a strong humanistic background to her photography, shaped by studies in classical languages, Sanskrit, and philosophy. Introduced to photography through her father’s 1950s Zeiss camera, she developed her practice as a self-taught artist.
Daniel Urs Kellenberger | 3rd Place | Born in Hong Kong to parents from Appenzell, he was raised between two very different worlds. He studied film at Edinburgh College of Art, arriving with the intention of becoming a director, but quickly discovered that the camera was the more interesting end of the arrangement.
Paul Adams | Honarable Mention | Paul Adams has been photographing for over 40 years. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he grew up backpacking and exploring the nearby coastal ranges, as well as running rivers above the Arctic Circle in Alaska. He was awarded a Master of Photography degree in 1996 and has taught photography at Utah State University, in the Florida Keys, and at Brigham Young University. He lived in Europe as a Fulbright Scholar and taught photography in Northern England.
Gabi Steiner | Honorable Mention | Gabi Steiner is an Austrian photographer and passionate traveler whose work is driven by a deep curiosity about hidden cultures and remote communities. She developed her artistic vision through studies at the German photography college Foto-Kunst-Kultur.
Her photography explores human connection, cultural identity, and the richness of diverse traditions, with a particular focus on indigenous and tribal communities.
