The Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), His Excellency Ali bin Thalith has announced the re-launch of the popular ‘Instagram Photo Contest ’ which saw a large number of participants in its first edition in 2015. The contest is open for entry to all photographers on the Instagram social media platform who use the official HIPA hashtag.
His Excellency Ali bin Thalith said “We received many requests from the general public and our social media community to relaunch the ‘Instagram Photo Contest’ in 2016 after the success of the first edition in 2015. In truth, the ease in which most photographers entered the competition last year was a big reason for us to retain it in our 2016 agenda. This year we plan to have the competition on a monthly basis starting in the month of May and extending onto February 2017, so that most photographers on Instagram can participate in the competition and have a chance at winning”.
Bin Thalith continued “We have just launched the May edition of the Photo Contest and it is themed ‘Birds’, submissions are open for this contest until Midnight Saturday (UAE Standard Time) whilst the judging of submissions and awarding of winners with their HIPA medals will be completed by the end of the month.
