Sonja Hesslow – I wanted to do something more than just a nice picture so I decided to show different feelings created in a box, and the series got the name “Boxed emotion”.
I made the images from dark to light with just one shape in color. The coloured shapes are those who possess power. I want to do my own props if it is possible. It is not just with the computer I want to be creative, I really love to use my hands and create things that I can actually touch. I wanted to do the whole picture in paper and made the box out of thicker paper and folded all the peaks by myself. Actually everything is made out of paper except the yellow ball, it is a styrofoam ball that I painted in yellow. I think it is interesting that it looks a little like 3D but when you take a closer look at the picture you can see that it is made out of paper.
I really like to try different light sources to get the best light for the picture. In some of the picture I have only used a flashlight as the only light. In some I have put a small lamp in the peak to get a realistic light. Some of them was impossible to photograph with a longer shutter speed so I had to use flash. [Official Website]
Super powers
The red shape is the one that is flying above all the others. The one that does not want to be one of the crowd.
Be strong
The soft yellow shape is threatened of all the sharp peaks. you have to be strong to be capable of resisting it.
Something bigger
The shape in this picture would not have been anything without the little blue one. Without it there is no complete form.
Carry the weak
The purple shape is the smallest but even though it holds the big one up. Even if you think someone looks stronger, it is not always the truth.
Effect
If you show that you are happy, it will affect the people around you in a good way and the world will be a better place.
