This year, Dodho Magazine will be present in one of the most artistic cities in the world: Rotterdam. As in previous years, the magazine will do its best to make the photography industry a better place. There are no limits when it comes to photography, Dodho is proof of that.

For Dodho, photography is the art of extracting windows of the world, configured in feelings, reflections, observations and curiosities that are reflected in a digital or physical support with determined limits. In the advent of taking photographs, we are, deliberately, extracting from the world what interests us about it, as if we were confirming to our mind what it should be fixed on.

Photography is the art of the gaze, even more than any other visual art.

Understanding the importance of photography to the world, art and even history, Dodho Magazine is always on the never-ending quest to enhance this unique and wonderful industry. He has been present at photography festivals in Miami, Bratislava, San Diego and Chicago. This year, we will be a media partner of Rotterdam Photo 2021.

All art lovers must have heard of Rotterdam sometime. Rotterdam is one of the most important cities in the Netherlands. It is the country with the largest number of museums in the world, it is estimated that there are almost 1000 museums throughout the country.

In addition, the most important cultural festivals take place in Holland every year. Among those is the Rotterdam Photo, which takes place at Art Rotterdam Week. This event will take place in Nieuwn – Mathenesse Rotterdam (NL), with photography being the perfect protagonist: a Street photography village club and hub for photography lovers.

© Geert Broertjes

It will be a five-day event in which everyone is welcome: amateurs, professionals, fine art, documentary to street … everyone has something to contribute to this year’s theme, “Planet Human”, whose inspiration is the covid-19 crisis. An event never before seen or experienced by our generation, and in which our daily lives stalled in standstill abruptly and unexpectedly.

This “new way of life” has brought us many questions: what is essential? Who are we? What are our dreams, goals, expectations? Are we growing after all this crisis? Are things going to be the same ever again once the covid-19 is eradicated?

Photography has been the best tool to document this entire process of doubts, crisis, regrowth. It leaves indelible marks of humanity in all its facets: the good, the evil, the beauty and the gruesome; and this festival will serve that purpose directly.

In addition to accompanying the festival in answering these questions, Dodho Magazine also has a pleasant surprise for the attendees: the event will have a dossier with a QR code that will let you download our latest edition. If you are a photography lover, you cannot miss this opportunity!
