We are immersed in the “WOW! Philosophy.” If someone takes a look at any social network, it quickly becomes evident that we are faced with a collection of events where there is no room for negativity, frustration, or even the so-called “boring” aspects of everyday life.
It is as if everyone wants to escape from these very human emotions, believing that the only thing that truly matters is superficial happiness, crafted from sensational experiences, unique moments, and unforgettable events.
My series aims to celebrate everyday life, the small daily gestures that shape our existence—cooking, shopping, talking with family, hanging out the laundry, or lingering in bed before getting up. It is essential to rediscover the beauty of everyday life because this is where we spend the vast majority of our time. Only by learning to appreciate these simple moments, only by finding happiness in the ordinary, can we truly learn to embrace everything that life has to offer.
I present unique moments of everyday life that may not necessarily have a temporal or spatial connection, yet they represent scenes we rarely pause to notice—let alone choose to photograph. Through these seemingly insignificant moments, the poetry of life is revealed, deserving to be celebrated as much as—or even more than—the “WOW!” moments that flood social media, constantly pushing us to seek greater spectacle in order to avoid being perceived as dull or uninspiring.
About Giuseppe Satriani
Giuseppe Satriani is a lifelong explorer with idealistic tendencies and a determined spirit, striving to align his experiences with his emotions. Born in Italy but now residing in Bilbao, he works as an IT consultant. As a child, he aspired to paint, but his technical limitations prevented him from pursuing it. However, with the advent of photography and later the digital revolution, he finally found a way to channel his creative energy.
His artistic development was significantly influenced by his encounters with masters such as Franco Fontana, Larry Fink, Joan Fontcuberta, and Pilar Pequeño, who helped him refine his technique and place it in the service of intention and thought.Generative AI has now become an integral part of Giuseppe’s artistic journey, which he quickly embraced as a means to exponentially expand his ability to transform mental visions into images, always guided by intentionality. He is a winner of the AI Visions Award 24 and has received recognition in EPA23, MUSE23, VIEPA21, IGPOTY (2022, 2020, 2019, 2018), and the Pollux Awards 2019. His work has been featured in ARTDOC and ICMPhotoMag, and showcased in the online exhibition Sineresi eMagazine. He was also selected for Descubrimientos-PhotoEspaña14 and VIPHOTO14. His group exhibitions include FotoNoviembre (2015, 2013), St. Petersburg (2012), and DeARTE (2012, 2013). [Office Website]
