The first time I saw an infrared photograph, it blew my mind. It felt like I was given access to a secret and mysterious world.
Infrared cameras captures light that the human eye can’t detect, and gives us the opportunity to explore a hidden world where everything looks different.
Hidden Light is a collection of 14 photographs, all of them captured with an infrared camera. With this project I wanted to explore how the technology of infrared cameras can transform an otherwise boring and uninspiring place into a beautiful, mysterious and ethereal sphere. The images shows that even the dullest surroundings can be interesting and beautiful. The protagonist of the story, a young girl, takes us along as she navigates the intriguing world of infrared light.
About Maren Klemp
Maren Klemp, born in 1984, is an award winning fine art photographer residing in Oslo, Norway. In 2003, she studied fine art photography and visual communication under professor Robert Meyer at Robert Meyer Kunsthogskole in Oslo, Norway. During her studies she developed a highly distinctive style of photography, which can be described as dark, narrative and evocative. Maren work with both color and black and white photography and is known for her dreamlike photographs, with a hint of mystery.
Maren’s work has won numerous awards, been shown internationally in both solo- and group exhibitions and it has been published in photographic journals worldwide. Her work is represented by Five3 Gallery, Laguna Beach, and Trevillion Images. [Official Website]
