Art Performer is a portraiture project about the unique characteristics of each art performer (singers, musicians, and movie impersonators) on the streets in the United States.
My purpose for this project is to observe and record the artists or performers’ life on the street documenting the freedom they have in the U.S. This occupation is completely new to me and these performers fascinate me because it is uncommon in my native culture.
I use black and white film to produce a traditional aesthetic look and feel. It is very challenging for me as I have to be in the right place and right time. I shoot almost every day, but often, I get nothing. I use a film Hasselblad camera and I personally develop the film and print each image in the darkroom. Finally, I believe this project will provide a good photographic reference for next generation to learn from. [Official Website]
