The Procession of Spectres by Ville Kansanen

“…The permanent-seeming self is actually an endless procession of disjointed moments.”

Jonah Lehrer, Proust was a Neuroscientist-

The Procession of Spectres engages with vast landscapes to examine the fragmentary nature of the human condition and the emergence of self. This body of work represents a step from behind the veil of ideas and techniques to find earnest revelations of my struggle to be whole with my fragmented sense of self. It is a reach for connectivity with others and a reconciliation with the stabbing isolation, which is necessary for creating work where one is exposing their inscape and physical form to as little interference as possible. The images are from a period where I experienced an awakening from a psychological disappearance — a loss of personality and its driving forces — an eclipse of individuality. [Official Website]
