The body is the coat of our bones and the choir house of our souls. Its beauty is inherent and yet mysterious. Artistically, for me, the nude has always presented challenges and opportunities to be able to create images that are visually interesting and authentic.

The body is the coat of our bones and the choir house of our souls. Its beauty is inherent and yet mysterious. Artistically, for me, the nude has always presented challenges and opportunities to be able to create images that are visually interesting and authentic.

I’ve read that those who first define a word controls its reality. The reality and rules of photography have been defined  and redefined by photographers and gatekeepers since its beginning. I’ve spent a good part of my photographic life trying to duplicate the reality and the rules of what’s been done, striving for beautifully lit landscapes and nudes. Since the beginning though, there has always  been a feeling that a key element has been lacking, So for the past few years I’ve started down a journey of exploration and experimentation in a search for my own elements of redefinition and authenticity.

I think that in photography we have the opportunity to capture the things that we are able to to see, we can create and capture things we want to see, or we are able to let the camera speak and help tell us stories about things that we are unable to see. In my recent series Flesh and Bones, through the use  of slow shutter speeds, a combination of elements and motion, the camera has compressed seconds in time fusing the visible and invisible into images that helps  capture and express my vision of the dance of life.

I’m an artist with a life long passion for the medium of photography.  I’m from Eastern Utah in the United States and for over three decades my art has encapsulated an eclectic range of subject matter. I’ve been intrigued and inspired by everything from the uniqueness of the human face and body, to the historic footprints left by man on the land and of the beauty of the landscapes itself. I incorporate digital, film and multiple historic alternative photographic in my imagery. Since 2005 I   have won numerous awards and have participated in over 165 solo and group exhibits nationally and throughout the world. [Official Website]

Fragments is a project within a project. Since 2020, I have been working on an installation project entitled Drifts Drifting Phase II which will be presented at Espace Produit Rien in Montréal in April 2023.
