Story

Photography puts you in front of the mirror, it shows you who you really are. Through a slow and progressive decanting process, photography allows you to know yourself, to know what kind of person you are.
I learned to photograph at the Savonese Photographic Circle, in 1983 in Savona. Every Friday evening, in a dilapidated place, 15-20 people passionate about photography gathered.
The 20 photographs that compose this portfolio are part of those included in Petricor, a photobook that aims to be a mirror of what is sadly beginning to be known as "Empty Spain".
The construction of the vessels is impressive as its mostly done by manual human manpower. Its plain muscle strength that is building these big vessels, some of the as large as 150 meters long and as high as a 20 storied building.
A Natural History (Built to be Seen) is a series of observations of the western natural world, with an emphasis on the spectacular and absurd ways it’s constructed and presented.
We noticed Georgia, a country located on the natural border between Asia and European continent, the Caucasus. I was intrigued by its history (recently independent since the fall of the USSR) and its location between Russia and West- Asia, and was not disappointed.
This photo-narrative tells the story of King Daluz Junior, a 23 years old boxer from Tenerife, Spain. As far back as he can remember he has been boxing. His father and uncle introduced him to this sport, so there is some tradition in his family history.
Katinka hung up the phone and sat still. Time was ticking faster than before, but not passing; how very abruptly and unannounced her future became her now. The calmness of her breath and the newly found weightiness of her long skinny legs startled Katinka.
Tenure project was selected and published in our print edition 18. Tenure describes the act of holding or possessing, as well as the status granted after a probationary period that protects one from dismissal.
During the Covid pandemic, the momentum of the daily life slowed down. Outside for solitary expeditions, the familiar transformed into a new kind of magical discovery, as if witnessed for the first time.
Every country has its fair share of folktales and legends with Spain certainly not being the exception. Andalucía in particular, which has a rich history, has some mysterious, spooky and scary stories
When everything falls silent and the world feels distant and its noise fails to drown out the quiet voice coming from within, anxiety creates a space for dialogue with our own mortality and with the knowledge that everything that is, will ultimately one day be gone.
If you drive south from Los Angeles on Interstate CA-111 along the eastern shore of the Salton Sea, past Bombay Beach, Frink, Wister, Mundo, and around the migrating geyser, you’ll reach Niland, one of the poorest counties in California.
Coney Island was shuttered and deserted. The Atlantic was frothing angrily, beating the shoreline and throwing walls of stinging spray at the beach and boardwalk, as if trying to topple the old Parachute Drop, standing watch over the Riegellman Boardwalk.
I was diagnosed positive with Covid 19 along with symptoms of headache, complete loss of smell, coughing and a lot of tiredness on May 2nd 2021. Life changed somewhat and I shifted myself to an isolated stay in the apartment in Newtown, Kolkata.
I had always been interested in visiting Brazil, but everything I had ever read about the place would be enough to scare anyone away. Swarms of children attacking tourists on the beach, the extreme poverty, hordes of pickpockets and never-ending stories of street gangs, made me wary.
As a documentary photographer, I use storytelling and photojournalism to address taboo issues in my society, and mostly issues that are considered a taboo to freely talk about in African communities are these issues Sex work, LGBTQI community, Gender based violence, Mental health, Menstrual hygiene, abortion and many more and these themes continue to direct my visual reflections.
It’s very posible that the geriatic center will be the last home for a human being, his last refuge. Most of the photographic reports already done about geriatic centers are focused on this aspect or are trying to show abuse cases or negligences towards the elders.
